A silver mounted aikuchi, the saya (sheath) delicately
carved in katakiri-bori with bamboo stems, the body
of hardwood, applied with an iron lily pad.
Length overall: 28.5cm
Signed with a gold seal Katsuyoshi
The mounts Meiji period, circa 1870
The blade signed Sukesada, likely the Sukesada
working in Kaga in the Eisho period (1504-1521)
who signed with just two characters.
